October 2, 2006, Mt. Lebanon, PA -- Matt Smith, Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 42nd District, announces a Press Conference at 10:00 AM on Monday October 2nd, at the home of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s endorsed Republican primary candidate Daniel Hackett. Mr. Hackett will formally announce his endorsement of Matt’s campaign to reform Harrisburg and Matt will unveil his sweeping plan to change the way government works.

Matt is very honored to have the endorsement of such a well respected community leader like Dan Hackett. Mr. Hackett not only garnered the primary endorsement from the Post-Gazette, but he also collected 19% of the primary vote in a true grassroots campaign. “I am very proud to have Dan’s support for my candidacy. As a consensus builder, I pride myself on finding common sense solutions that appeal to all residents in the 42nd District, regardless of their political affiliation.”

Matt Smith is a small business attorney, born in Bethel Park and currently resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife Eileen. The 42nd District includes Mt. Lebanon, Green Tree, Rosslyn Farms, Thornburg, and parts of Bethel Park and Scott Township.
